What is included in a visit to Pompeii excavations and how can I book?
To avoid long queues at the entrance (especially at weekends and in summer) it is advisable to purchase tickets online. You will receive a free map at the entrance. Audio guides in different languages are also available.

What is forbidden to do in Pompeii?
Visitors to Pompeii Excavations are required to behave decently.
The use of drones without authorization is prohibited.
What should I wear when visiting Pompeii?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes, especially if you plan to walk the entire route.
You can bring a small backpack with only the bare essentials, such as a bottle that you can fill at the various fountains.
Is there a cloakroom?
Free luggage storage is available at all entrances. It is forbidden to bring bags, backpacks or luggage onto the site that are larger than 30x30x15 cm.
Are the excavations accessible to wheelchair users?
Yes, most of the routes have been revised to allow for wheelchair rides. However, some paths have uneven terrain. We recommend asking for information at the entrance on which routes are recommended to be easily walked in a wheelchair.
Can pets enter Pompeii excavations?
Small pets are allowed, provided they are kept on a leash.
Is it possible to eat in the excavation area?
There is a bar/restaurant inside the archaeological site. There are also many fountains with drinking water. There is a medical facility near the park, near the motorway grill.
You can stop in some marked areas inside the site for lunch.
It is not possible to eat around and organize private lunches or dinners, except in the case of institutional initiatives.
How can I visit the excavations with children?
Walking along the ancient streets of Pompeii with a stroller is not easy. For this reason, there is a specially marked route on the map for people using wheelchairs. Parents with strollers could take the same route.
In the archaeological site there are also some Baby Points where you can change nappies and breastfeed babies in complete privacy.
