How can I get Pompeii by train?
The most convenient way to reach Pompeii is by taking the Circumvesuviana train from Naples to Sorrento and getting off at Pompei Scavi (Villa of the Mysteries), which is the nearest stop at the entrance of Porta Marina.
The excavations can be reached on foot from the station.
How can I get to Pompeii by car? Where can I park in Pompeii?
You can reach the Pompeii archaeological site by car and park in one of the secure parking areas located near the entrances. Both municipal paid parking and private car parks are available.
If you're coming from the north (for example from Naples), take the A3 Naples–Salerno motorway toward Salerno and exit at Pompei Ovest.
Continue on the SS18, turn onto Via Villa dei Misteri, and you will arrive within a few meters.
If you're coming from the south, exit the A3 motorway at Pompei Est and follow Via Antonio Morese toward Via S. Giovanni Battista della Salle, then take Via Sacra and continue along the SS18 until you reach Via Villa dei Misteri.
How can I get to Pompeii by bus?
From Naples, from Piazza Garibaldi Railway Station, you can take the EAV and SITA buses.
There are two EAV buses which depart from Naples, Garibaldi Railway Station: the "Napoli-Sorrento", which stops at Villa of the Mysteries, and the "Napoli-Scafati", which stops at "Pompei v.Plinio" or "Pompei Villa dei Misteri".
You can also take the SITA bus from Naples Capodichino Airport. It is the "Naples-Nocera-Salerno" service and stops at "Pompei Scavi".
Which airport should I choose to visit Pompeii?
If you land at Naples Capodichino Airport, you can take the SITA bus that takes you directly to the Pompeii Ruins.
Alternatively, you can take the Alibus from the airport to Piazza Garibaldi, where you can then take the SITA bus to Salerno and get off at Pompeii.
The most expensive option is the taxi.
