How to get to Pompeii by train?

The train is the most convenient way to reach Pompeii using the Circumvesuviana train line on the route Naples - Sorrento and get off at Pompei Scavi (Villa of the Mysteries), the nearest stop at the entrance of Porta Marina.
From the station, excavations can be reached on foot.

How to get to Pompeii by car? Where to park in Pompeii?

You can reach the archaeological site of Pompeii by car and using the guarded parking lots near the excavations. There are both paid municipal car parks and several private car parks.

Coming from the north (example Naples) you have to use the A3 Naples-Salerno towards Salerno and take the exit Pompeii West.
Continue on the SS18, turn into Via Villa dei Misteri and after a few meters you have reached your destination.

Coming from the south, from the A3 motorway take the Pompei Est exit and proceed along Via Antonio Morese towards Via S.Giovanni Battista della Salle, take Via Sacra and continue on the SS18 until Via Villa dei Misteri.

How to get to Pompeii by bus?

From Naples, from Piazza Garibaldi station, you can take the EAV and SITA buses.

The EAV buses leave from Naples Garibaldi station and there are two: the "Napoli-Sorrento" stops at Villa of the Mysteries while the "Napoli-Scafati" stops at "Pompei v.Plinio" or "Pompei Villa dei Misteri".
The SITA bus, you can also take from Naples Capodichino Airport, is the "Naples-Nocera-Salerno" and stops at "Pompei Scavi".

Looking which airport for Pompeii?

Landing at Naples Capodichino Airport you can take the SITA bus that takes you directly to the Pompeii Ruins.

Otherwise you can take the Alibus from the airport and get off at Piazza Garibaldi and from here, take the SITA bus to Salerno and get off at Pompeii.

The most expensive alternative is the taxi.
